What a great weekend this turned out to be for the Vauxhall Cresta Club. Rain threatened the weekend but thankfully the main period of rain was overnight on Saturday night, so i have been told.

Congratulation must go to Wendy for putting on such a great show. Wendy had organised the car judgeing competition, the quiz & the raffle which managed to raise £100 for the club. A presentation was made to Mr & Mrs Porter who are the longest members of the club & have owned their 1959 3 window PA from new, more on this to follow in the Griffin Gazette. A cake celebrating 50 years of the PA ownership.

This was a fitting tribute to Mr & Mrs Porter, their car is a credit to them & may it bring many more happy years of motoring.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Wendy has put together a folder of the story so far, like i mentioned earlier a more comprehensive article will appear in the Griffin Gazette. Presentaions were then made for the best model of each marque, this went down really well, again well done Wendy, you made Billing 2009 a year to remember.

 

 

 

Another reason to celebrate was seeing one of our new club members, Andy Cooper winning the best car at show (The Chairmans cup) with his superb 1956 E series Cresta, congratulations Andy.

 

Our club can be proud, we put on a great show of models & i would think we were one of the clubs with the most cars on display.
