UPDATE Billing 2009 (February 03, 2009)
Well, just an update on this years Vauxhall event of the year, as it is getting near time to start organisation etc.

General. Billing are in the process of re-branding the operation including:

Improving the facilities, for instance, the ground was very wet, staff are busy filling in the soggy bits with a drainable aggregate.
More activities for children eg. carousel etc.
More electric supply points.
Extra, new, more experienced Security staff (ex-police and service backgrounds) with a principle of zero tolerance on misbehaviour. This is in addition to cops and PCSOs.
Up to 75 caravans for hire by the time of our event.

Revised website.
Camping. The 2008 rate was discounted at 2007 prices for VBOA people only. We will again have a discounted rate for camping for 2009.

It will be £15 per night (normally £20) for us for overnight Friday and Saturday ie, departing Sunday. This is nominally for a 24 hour period but Billing will allow for exceeding this ie, arriving 3.00pm Friday but departing 6.00 pm Sunday.

Extra days eg. Thursday or Monday overnight at standard rate of £20.

Electrical hook-up. £6 per day

Caravan Hire for three nights. 4 Berth £175 (normally £220)

6 Berth £200 (normally £250)

Caravans are sited near Vinnies, a couple of minutes walk from the arena area.

A cheap deal if you can fill a caravan. NB. First come – first served.

Dogs. Billing are beginning to have problems with the number of dogs being brought to the site and have now imposed a charge of £2 per night.

Club gazebos. Same rules as last year for charges.

So, hopefully some improvements this year, although the prices have gone up a bit, and please note, they are now charging for dogs as well!

Let’s also hope the weather is better this year, as I really don’t want to have to take a wheelbarrow & shovel in my PA!

As I said before, there will be some major changes to the club stand – for the better hopefully!

There will be a new booking in system, so on arrival you must come and register at the club tent, and get your bag of info, voting forms, rally plaques etc… this will save a lot of time and work in me running round trying to see everyone who comes in!

Also this year, I am adopting a ‘Park where you like’ policy rather than in groups, as some people with different models like to park with their friends etc, so I hope this is ok to everyone, but your feedback would be much appreciated.

There will be a Club Raffle (any donations are welcome, please let me know) Club Trophy competitions for the peoples choice of best/worse cars etc. and there will also be a special presentation, these will be on the Sunday, times to be confirmed once I know times of VBOA prizes/raffles, so that they don’t clash, and I would appreciate everyone to stay and attend them.

I would also like some volunteers to help (mainly on the Sunday) with the regalia stand, as I have to go off to do some VBOA stuff, and be there for the presentations and VBOA Raffle.

I would appreciate any feedback, comments or suggestions on any of the above, or any other suggestions to improve the club and events.

Remember….. Your club needs you!

Happy Vauxhalling….

Wendy
