Hi
Just had a garage sort out and found a dozen or so issues of the Griffin Gazette from the mid 80's to the mid 90's. These are free to anyone who would like to collect them from Canvey Island. I've also got a pair of front wings that I took off my old Viscount 20 odd years ago these are quite rotten but might do somebody for patches or badges, again free if you can collect.
Does anyone in the club now if my Viscount KLK 172K is still around?
Jst send me an E-Mail if interested.
Cheers

I live in Queensland, Australia and own a 1963 (previously registered as a '65) PB Cresta hydramatic.
Desperately in need of a replacement starter motor and accelerator rod (snapped it while trying to pump the fuel to start it!)
Would love to hear from anyone with any other PB's as by the sounds of it, there's only a couple of us left!
Email editor@vintagecaravanmagazine.com.au if you can help...

Have 1958 pa Cresta which cannot select 2nd & 3rd gears. Understand there may be a "fix" in the form of re-manufactured set of Rubber Grommets and Bushes that fit on to ends of the two rods that go from the Gear Shift to the side of the gearbox. Any help would be much appreiciated. Tony.

Hi Cresta Club - I live in New Zealand and own a 1965 PB Cresta. I am told it is the only genuine one in NZ.
The car has been completely restored, and is two tone blue.
I am serioulsy thinking of selling my PB, but I don't really know where to start.
Is there a market for PB Crestas overseas that I should try?
I would appreciate any comments.

Bill, I had four PA's in Texas but sadly due to a tornado only three and a half now!
Just re-joined the club. I used to live in Orlando (Yes Al, you're a bit late but there WERE PA's in Florida!) but am back in Northern New Jersey.
Re-Restoring my Royal Blue 1960 Velox and also have a '62. Both are LHD cars and are quite rare, to my knowledge there's only 4 people in the US who are/were into PAs, myself, a Gentleman in Texas with 2, Mike Frankovich in California had a RHD 2.6 Cresta and a Friary(!!!) but he has since passed away. I also have heard of a White 2.6 in New York that I'd love to hear more about.
I'd love to hear of any other PAs in America, there's a few up in Canada where they were originally sold new but GM didn't see fit to sell the PA in America.
I know of no PBs or PCs in America, I did hear of an E Series in Illinois a few years back and I know that there's a few also up in Canada.
So to answer Al's question.. there's at least 5, and maybe as many as 8-10 PAs in America, probably less than 20 on the road in Canada and a few more in rough shape. There's also LHD PAs in Scandinavia, but, obviously, they're quite rare but a few do exist there. (Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway) and there's also a gorgeous 3-window Cresta in Switzerland that I have seen pics of online. There's probably more hiding out there but not many.

I wonder if my late father's PB Cresta has survived.
1965 (C registration) in two tone blue (light blue roof, main body darker blue). Manual gearbox. The car was sold on early 1970's at which time it was still in good condition. Registered keeper location would have been north west London.

Back in the summer I was at a show & was speaking to the owner of a lovely 1957 Green & White E series. I told him of the identical one that a neighbour had back in the 60's which had been one of the Vauxhall press cars, registered RTM 775. It was owned from about 1961 to 1964 by a Mr Bill Hines of 110 Beaumont Drive Northfleet Kent. The owner I was speaking to was most interested to hear of this as apparently there has been debate in the club as to whether the RTM cars ever existed. I've seen a picture of RTM 775 but its a Wyvern, so Vauxhall must have photographed the cars before actually registering it. Thought this may be of interest. Regards Pete Foster

Hello all, great to see the marque alive, being a past owner of a 1962 Velox which I, in my younger days converted to a Cresta by fitting everything except the individual front seats. She was black/grey. Only three years old and needed front wings.I now own a Triumph TR4 and have restored many a classic However not the reason I am here. Although not employed as, I am a time served Coach Trimmer and been doing the odd job for anyone. I have a rear seat back from a, I believe a PC or PB with armrest. The person now no longer wants it, The cover is off and I was about to fit a top panel in black leather. The seat is dark green and was to be stained. I hate to lose the past by dumping it. Anyone want it? e-mail me.

Can anyone help please? I would like to be able to fit a child's car seat in my 1962 PA. The child's seat has Isofix attachments (I use it in our modern car) and I wonder if any club members have experience of putting Isofix fittings rather than seatbelts in the back of a PA.
I'd be grateful for any advice please.
If Isofix is not an option I suppose we'll have to look at seatbelts.

Good to see my old PA XDL474 on the site pictures at Billing 09. I owned the car from 87-circa 94. It came from the isle of Wite originally, I bought it from a Ted in Stoke and it lived with me in the West Midlands before going South to Statford. Bought for a few hundred pounds and sold for the same. I ran it as my everyday car although it looks much better than when i had it. Too young and too skint to appreciate it, I managed to scrape it from one MOT to the next but eventually had to let it go. I had lived the dream and loved it.
